'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us this morning. let's get a check on weather and traffic on this friday. >> there is some fog out there. ensing up.in 90 minutes delays at queens an anne county. the fog is beyond that. it goes west of the bay. the fog does not show up on the radar. the stormy weather is either ofth of us and inla line storms crossing the mississippi valley. that will bring us relief from the heat we expect today. hot and humid. but foggy this morning, at least in some areas. we will detail that in just a few minutes. let's check on traffic. >> the fog is out there. you cannot see it on our cameras. we have a few things to mention -- you can see it on the cameras. there are closures at charles street, a cathedral street in mount vernon because of the book festival. there is a car fire in the white marsh area on 95, but that does not look like to be affecting traffic. things are looking good on the topside of the beltway. use those low beams to get through that. this is the key bridge. very light volume. we do have some fog warnings on the area bridges. be a

. welcome back. i am stan stovall. >> and i'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us this morning. let's get a check on whether and tougher. the ravens beat the jets last night. >> -- etch a sketch account weather and traffic. >> we're killing time until keith mills gets out here. >> killing time until sports. let's put the current conditions. temperatures are a little on the cool side. 58 at the airport. it will be mild this afternoon. upper 70's and low 80's. we do have some rain in the forecast for later this week. >> it is one of those mornings where it pays to be out early. a downed pole has now been cleared. that is good news. everything else is open along route 94. major -- of the the rest of the major roadways are looking good. equally smooth. harbor tunnel checking out fine. 63 of the north side of route harford. 55 at the northwest corner. five minutes on 95 south to the fort mchenry. 11 minutes on the inner loop north east side. outer loop west side, 11 minutes. not a whole lot to complain about. this is harford road. i am for getting this shot. 95 at the fort mchenry. a very nice
airlines could be on the horizon. >> kim dacey joins us live from federal hill with more on what this will mean for the airport and baltimore. >> southwest is the largest air carrier in baltimore. one economist says the announcement will mean good things for baltimore and bwi southwest airlines is the largest carrier for bwi, running 140 flights out of baltimore. a merger between southwest and airtran will mean more flights and more passengers. passengers will spend more money on things like parking and a food. that translates into more money for the city and state. >> there could be benefits for hotels if baltimore is a more convenient destination. convention planners will choose hotels here. that is good news. >> there are still some unanswered questions about the deal. no decisions have been made about eliminating employees. there will likely be job losses on the corporate level. more jobs could come to baltimore. >> southwest gets bigger at bwi. there are more flights. more flights mean more people needed to book the flights, to help passengers, including screening them throu
welcome back. i am stan stovall. >> and i'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us this morning. let's get a check on weather and traffic. it is raining. >> it will slow things down. give yourself some extra time. keep a jacket and an umbrella with you. we will be in the 60's today. we can see moderate to heavy rain represented by the oranges and yellow. give yourself as much extra time as you can. we'll have periods of rain. there could be some breaks. high temperatures in the upper 60's and maybe do the low 70's if we are lucky. we will check the seven-day forecast coming up in just a few minutes. we will check on when things will clear up. >> we have a couple of accidents just in. eastbound 70 is a busy road. we have an accident reported past route 29. watch for delays there. westbound 100, the ramp from snowden river parkway has now been reopened. we're dealing with a new crash northbound on to 95 near 100. another spot where you could find some slow going. delays on the north side. it will be a slick start. nothing significant on the beltway. still moving pretty good on 95.
for joining us this morning. but get a check on weather and traffic on this friday. it is one of those weeks that went on forever. >> that cold front zipped on throughout last night and give a some much-needed rainfall. we're trying out just in time for the weekend. we will be breezy in the wake of that front. we will be a little above normal, 81 to 84 degrees. the wind could be gusting out of the northwest. we have clear skies for your outdoor plants. 55 in the outlying suburbs. 62 downtown tonight. >> traffic looking good. not a whole lot to talk about. downed wires in the city are now clear. we are up to speed on the major roadways. 60 on the west side. 57 on the j.f.x. as you head down into the city. 67 on 95 in the northeast corner. very smooth out there. 12 minutes all the way down. four minutes between 32 and 100 heading into the city. looking at seven minutes at the harbor tunnel toll plaza. no delays to report at all. this is the beltway right at exit 24, the harrisburg expressway. moving in just fine. switching over to a live view at the fort mchenry toll plaza. very light volume f
